Brittain Resorts & Hotels not only serves its guests through creating the ultimate Myrtle Beach vacation experience, but it also gives back to its Grand Strand community as well. We support many philanthropic organizations, with one of those being Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity Horry County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization whose mission is to reduce substandard housing in Horry County. They do this by creating partnerships to build reasonable homes in the community. The association was founded on the principle that “every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in safety and dignity”. Brittain Resorts & Hotels is proud to support their cause and has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for a number of years.
Three homes are currently being built by Habitat for Humanity in Horry County. Suzanne Gore is the Home Buyer for the 134th home, which was just completed and is located in Conway, South Carolina. Suzanne Gore is a full-time Adult Support for Special Needs students in the Horry County School District, and she has two daughters – one of which is attending Coastal Carolina University on a full academic scholarship and the other who is an Honor Roll student at The Academy of Arts and Science. The home broke ground this past February of 2017 and the finishing touches were made in May. On June 19th, 2017, the home was dedicated to the Gore family and is officially ready for them to move in!
Brittain Resorts & Hotels donated 16 beds – 2 Queen, 2 Full and 11 Twins – to the Habitat Heads in Beds program. Of these beds that were donated, three of them will given to the Gore family to provide a comfortable place to sleep for Suzanne Gore and her two daughters. Britain Resorts & Hotels is excited to be able to contribute to the well being of these families in its community.
At Brittain Resorts & Hotels in Myrtle Beach, we believe it’s important to give back to the community we have been a part of for over 80 years. Habitat for Humanity is an organization we are proud to partner with and will continue supporting to help end substandard housing in Horry County.
