April Events

April is a beautiful time of year to be in Myrtle Beach, when we are just getting a taste of the sunny and warm temperatures of the spring and upcoming summer months. There are lots of festivals and things to do outside with your friends and family in the fresh air and sunshine. Set aside some time in your busy spring schedule to check out some of these fun local events.

California Roots Carolina Reggae Festival

Come listen to some reggae jams near the waves, mon! Top reggae bands from all over travel to perform at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Bring a blanket to chill and all your friends for some good vibes and good food. The festival is a family friendly event and there will be beer, wine, food and gift vendors. Some of the performers in the lineup include The Movement, New Kingston, Sundried Vibes, and Fortunate Youth.

Taste of the Coast
April 23

Have an appetite? Take it to the House of Blues for this year’s Taste of the Coast. This yearly North Myrtle Beach event celebrates all the best in dining across the Grand Strand. Eat up at booths from restaurants including Castano’s Italian Steakhouse, Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, California Dreaming, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Sticky Fingers, The Melting Pot, T.G.I. Friday’s, and more. In addition to all of the food, there will be a “Kids Zone” with face painting, activities and live entertainment. Along with a $5 admission, event holders are asking that you bring canned food donations to help with a food drive being held in support of North Strand Helping Hands. So bring the whole family for a day of fun for a great cause.

Horry County Fair
April 15-24

The Horry County Fair is 10 days of fun for the whole family. The Myrtle Beach Speedway is being transformed into a giant fairground complete with all your fair favorites: amusement park rides, vendors, games, a petting zoo and so much more. Catch live concerts from Trace Adkins, Huey Lewis and The News, Mike Posner, Montgomery Gentry and Nash Grier and Friends. Play in the Cornhole Tournament of Champions, root for your favorite four-legged runner of Robinson’s Racing Pigs, and watch the very first Miss Horry County Fair be crowned at the Belles of the Beach Pageant. There’s something for everyone at the fair!

Stache Dash
April 30

The Burro Loco Stache Dash is calling you to grab your sombrero and your best mustache and come get colorful for a cause. Held at the Horry County Bike and Run Park, the 5K trail run asks racers to embrace the rainbow- the most colorful runner wins! Be sure and wear white so you stand out and soak up all the color on the course! Adult runners, don’t forget to head to Burro Loco after you run for a complimentary drink. All proceeds from the run are going to SOS Autism Health Care Inc, a Myrtle Beach organization dedicated to assisting those affected by Autism in our community.

Dragon Boat Festival
April 30

The Myrtle Beach Dragon Boat Festival is a unique and fun competition for charity held at the Market Common. Intricately decorated boats are loaded with 20 paddlers and a drummer. The 20 paddlers must row as quickly and as in sync as they possibly can in order to be the fastest across the pond. The festival benefits Ground Zero, a local non-profit that is dedicated to mentoring teenagers through a positive environment and entertainment.
When you stay at any of the Brittain Resorts properties, you are close to all of the fun the Myrtle Beach area has to offer. Along with the festivals and outdoor fun this time of year Myrtle Beach offers some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment there is.  Your whole family can have fun and make memories that will last a lifetime.
