What will you be doing?

The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage directly supports the Director of Food & Beverage in overseeing all dining operations, ensuring exceptional service and product quality, leading team members, and performing other essential functions of the food & beverage department.

Assistant Director of Food & Beverage responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Present on the floor during all meal periods to ensure adequate coverage and exceptional service provided
  • Oversee any banquets, meetings and special events to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Ensure restaurant is fully staffed and able to handle volume of business
  • Understand and train empowerment principles to ensure satisfaction
  • Coach, train and develop associates to meet all service standards
  • Maintain fair and consistent coaching and counseling procedures in accordance with Company policy
  • Facilitate associate meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests; exceed the local requirements for inspections
  • Ensures accurate and consistent cash handling procedures are met
  • Interview, hire and train qualified applicants
  • Recognize and/or reward exceptional associate performance
  • Other duties, as assigned

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evening shifts and weekends.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management, including both back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) operations in a full-service restaurant setting.
  • Experience with ordering, implementing effective inventory controls, and managing food and beverage costs.
  • Resort/hotel food & beverage experience is preferred.
  • Exhibits a strong level of enthusiasm and a flexible approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold company service standards.
  • Ability to coach and guide associates, fostering teamwork, collaboration, responsibility, reliability, and honesty.
  • Proficiency with computers and general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
