Where to Celebrate July 4th in Myrtle Beach

One of the best places to celebrate America’s birthday is in Myrtle Beach! There are always tons of firework shows and patriotic events taking place along the Grand Strand. Here are some happenings to check out if you’re making plans to stay with Brittain Resorts & Hotels during July 4th:

Patriotic Events
Independence Day 8K at Market Common
Throw on your red, white and blue attire and get ready to race into July 4th as you kick off your celebrations with a family fun-run! The July 4th Independence Day 8K will be taking place at The Market Common and is a great way to actively start the day before lounging on the beach. There will also be 5 K and 1 mile options for the younger ones or those looking for a few less laps. The event will begin at 7:30 am around Valor Park.

Independence Saturday Cookout
On Saturday, June 30th, La Belle Amie will be hosting their annual Independence Saturday Cookout. They will be grilling out and serving up Twisted Sister wine – bottled from the muscadine grapes right from their own vineyard. There will be live entertainment so feel free to bring your lawn chair and get ready of a fun-filled day of patriotic festivities. Admission is only $3 when you bring canned food donation.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball Game
There’s nothing like watching the All American Pastime to kick off your Independence Day celebrations! The Myrtle Beach Pelicans will be hosting Potomac on July 3rd at 7:05 pm. Although you can find into your typical July 4th American fare of burger and hot dogs at the concession stand – there will be a Taco Tuesday Special so you can dig into $2 Tacos and sip on $2 16 oz cans from 6 – 8pm. And make sure to stick around after the game is over for a spectacular firework display!

Salute from the Shore
Every July 4th, our military takes flight over the entire South Carolina coast in an event known as Salute from the Shore. This inaugural flyover which was assisted by a C-17 from Charleston AFB, received rave reviews so they’ve continued this patriotic tradition year after year. Head down to the beach at 1 pm and get ready to cheer on the armed forces fly down the coast – a symbolic reminder of our freedom as we celebrate our nation’s birthday!

Murrells Inlet Boat Parade
Grab your little American flags and dress in your red, white and blue as you head over to the Murrells Inlet for the annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade. The parade goes from 4 pm to 6 pm and starts at Garden City Point and continues on past the MarshWalk to Hot Fish Club. This event is fun for the whole family so pack some lawn chairs and enjoy cheering on the passing boats – decked out in patriotic decor!

Firework Schedule
An annual tradition of celebrating America’s birthday is ending the day with fireworks lighting up the night sky. And there are plenty of firework shows to watch over the water all around Myrtle Beach on July 4th. After you’ve gotten your fill of the beach, burgers, and hot dogs – here are some places to catch a spectacular firework show:

9:30 pm – Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach
10 pm – Broadway at the Beach
10 pm – Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
10 pm – Barefoot Landing
10 pm – Second Avenue Pier
