There is always something soothing about visiting Myrtle Beach. Something about knowing the ocean is right there at your disposal brings both peace and smiles. That is true even as the summer is winding to a close and fall is slowly making its entrance. In most places fall signals its arrival by a gradual change of color on the trees and leaves falling to the ground. But here in Myrtle Beach the palm trees don’t turn brown and there is no gentle breeze blowing the leaves down. The weather may be slightly cooler, but that just makes the setting more welcoming. So what better way to end the day with a cup of coffee at the recently renovated Compass Joe’s?
It’s easy to find at Compass Cove Resort, and the parking is ample in their parking garage. Entering Compass Joe’s, you will still experience and see the same great coffee and treats, and though affiliated with Starbucks, it doesn’t have that corporate feel. Fall at Compass Joe’s is in full swing with signs displaying the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte. It maybe sounds like a cliché, but is there any better way to travel from summer to fall than a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte?
One can see the battle of the seasons between the customers dressed in bathing suits and sundresses mixed in with the signage of featured seasonal signature drinks. Here at the beach it can be hard to accept summer is coming to an end. But that’s not a problem because this is also a great time for people to visit. The traffic on the roads has died down and there are plenty of open spots in the sand to put a beach chair and soak up the sun.
Ownership has really worked hard to make sure this is a perfect little spot to visit with company, get some last minute emails sent (for those few that can’t always “vacation on vacation”), or simply relax from the day of touring around the Grand Strand. Though the atmosphere is a little different than a standard coffee shop as sights of ocean, pool, and beach mix with the smells of fine coffees. Compass Joe’s offers quaintness with a trendy bar to work, as well as various tables and chairs. The bar is a great place to sit because it boasts the best view of the ocean beyond the pool – as well as an occasional cute little baby floating around the indoor pool in a frog float.
The spicy blend of cinnamon blended with pumpkin in a seasonal drink from Compass Joe’s is exactly what one needs to ease summer blues and gently move into autumn. The lighting is warm and the music is just the right blend of classic and new. Although summer goodbyes are hard, at least autumn at the beach will end with sand instead of winter snow.
So, if you are experiencing these same summer blues, stop by Compass Joe’s and treat yourself to a seasonal Starbucks drink. Salted Caramel Mocha Frappacino is a great option for those that are not quite ready to give up the iced drinks for something hot. Compass Joe’s at Compass Cove Resort, Myrtle Beach is a great place with a new look and just the right place to be this fall here at the beach.
