December Events In Myrtle Beach

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays are right around the corner, and there is plenty of entertainment happening along the Grand Strand. Here are the top December events in Myrtle Beach:

Festival of Trees: Head into Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach to see some amazing holiday trees. The event takes place November 6 – December 31 and is free with admission into the aquarium. Walk around and see over 50 trees uniquely decorated to represent each state. Find your state tree and see which ornaments match your hometown.

Night of a Thousand Candles: If you haven’t been to Brookgreen Gardens for Night of a Thousand Candles, we highly recommend it. There is nothing more spectacular and magical than seeing thousands of lights around the gardens. There are more than 5,500 hand-lit candles and a countless number of sparkling lights. Come out and celebrate the season with a cup of warm cider, carolers and delicious food. You can catch Night of a Thousand Candles Dec. 3-5, Dec. 10-2 and Dec. 17-19 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket prices vary.

We found Santa on the Beach: The Myrtle Beach State Park is hosting a great event for families on December 5th. Be sure to bring your camera for a unique photo opportunity on the beach from 11 a.m. – 3 pm. Kids can get their photos with Santa and enjoy other great holiday activities including reindeer relay races, Santa sea star search and story times with a park twist. Plus, there will be hot dogs and marshmallow roasting.

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade: Get into the holiday spirit on December 5th in North Myrtle Beach. The annual Christmas parade is back and full of great entertainment. Enjoy the lighted floats and groups from all over town starting at 5:30 pm.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland: Do you love Christmas lights? If so, then you will want to check out Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. The Wonderland is setup at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans ballpark where cars drive through to see the magic. Tune your car to the correct radio station and listen close as the music is in sync with the lights. The event begins running November 1st and ends the first week of January. It’s something the entire family will enjoy.

The South’s Grandest Christmas Show: We couldn’t think of a better way to get into the holiday spirit than by seeing a Christmas show. The Alabama Theatre hosts a brilliant musical each year that incorporates dancing, singing, holiday music and more all into one. The show is popular with locals and visitors each year and has become a tradition for many. You can catch the show at 7:30 pm Monday-Saturday. Ticket prices begin at $42 and are based on your seat.

Carolina Opry Christmas Special: The Carolina Opry Christmas special begins on November 1st and runs through the first week of January. It will be the 30th year that the Calvin Theatre has hosted this special presentation. Sit back, relax and sing along to your favorite holiday songs. Plus, you can enjoy the Carolina Opry dancers, sleigh ride, snow and a visit from Santa! It’s a great show for everyone. Tickets begin at $42 and vary by the seat. There are multiple shows and times during the week.
