December Events in Myrtle Beach

‘Tis the season for holiday happenings and festive events in Myrtle Beach! Be sure to add these to your holiday must-do list while you’re visiting the grand strand during the month of December!

December 1-3: Inlet Christmas Weekend
Location: Murrells Inlet
Kick off the holiday season with a weekend full of festivities! Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be making a special guest appearance to assist with the tree lighting ceremony in Morse Park from 5 pm to 8 pm. Afterwards, you can take part in the Christmas Home Tour throughout Collins Creek Landing on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. End the weekend with the annual Christmas Parade starting at 3 pm on Sunday at Sunnyside Avenue to Wachesaw Road.

December 1-2, 7-9, 14-17: Nights of a Thousand Candles
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
Brookgreen Gardens will transform under the glow of 5,500 hand-lit candles and sparkling lights between the hours of 3 pm and 10 pm. Guests can get in the holiday spirit with a cup of warm cider, holiday music, and carolers.

December 2, 9, 16: Holiday Bazaar
Location: Market Common
This festive holiday market will feature seasonal craft vendors, live greens and fresh food. This unique experience is the perfect time to grab some unique gifts for loved ones. The Holiday Bazaar takes place from 12 pm until 4 pm in the Market Common on Howard Avenue.

December 2: Breakfast with Santa
Location: Tupelo Honey, Market Common
From 9 am to 11 am, you can enjoy Breakfast with Santa at Tupelo Honey! You child will love chatting with Santa about their Christmas wishlist over pancakes! Call to make a reservation.

December 2: A Very Broadway Christmas
Location: Broadway at the Beach
Kick off the holidays with a full day of events! Starting at 11 am, you can enjoy the Ripley’s Holiday Parade. Musical performances and kids activities will run from 1 pm until 4 pm. After the parade, stick around to watch the tree come to life at the annual tree lighting ceremony, which will take place at 6 pm. The festivities will commence with a spectacular firework show over the water at 8 pm.

December 16: Breakfast with Santa
Location: Gordon Biersch, Market Common
From 9 am to 11 am, bring your kids to Gordon Biersch so they can enjoy dining with Santa! Call to make a reservation.

December 16: MarshWalk Santa Crawl
Location: Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
The 3rd Annual MarshWalk Santa Crawl kicks off at 5 pm and will feature drink and dinner specials from each of the bars and restaurants located along the Marshwalk boardwalk. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Christmas apparel – so throw on a tacky sweater or a Santa hat and head out to the Inlet for an evening of fun! Plus, the outfit that best reflects the holiday season will win a cash prize!

December 30: New Year Bonfire
Location: La Belle Amie
Sip on wine, enjoy live music and warm up by the fire as you say toast farewell to 2017. Admission is $5, but with the donation of 2 canned food items – you can receive a $3 discount off your ticket.

December 31: Hard Rock Café NYE Party
Location: Hard Rock Café, Broadway at the Beach
Rock out to the New Year with live music, a ball drop, and party favors at the Hard Rock Café! The party runs from 10 pm until 2 am.

December 31: New Year’s Eve Stroll By Candlelight
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
Before the festivities of the New Year’s Eve parties, spend some time reflecting on the year and spend time reminiscing with friends among the glow of the sculpture garden. The garden will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm with over a thousand hand-lit candles, twinkling lights and holiday tunes. Space fills up quickly – so make sure to purchase your tickets in advance.

December 31: A Southern Times Square
Location: Market Common
Celebrate the upcoming New Year with a mirror-ball drop, a beer garden, live entertainment and more! They will be live streaming NYE in Times Square and a grand firework show at midnight to start 2018 off with a bang!
