The heat of the summer is beginning to wane in Myrtle Beach while fall festivals are just heating up! Whether you’re into heritage food fests or unique art – there is a festival that you’re sure to enjoy. SEPTEMBER
Inaugural Music & Arts Festival
Date: September 8
Location: Grand Park at The Market Common
Presented by Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, NC, this festival will feature local music while highlighting the talented artists from all over the Grand Strand. The festival will be held from 1 pm to 7 pm and there will be plenty of craft beer, wine tastings, live entertainment, specialty vendors and more!

SOS Fall Shag Migration
Date: September 14 – 23
Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
Check out all the local spots like Fat Harold’s, Duck’s, OD Arcade and OD Bar & Lounge for a week of celebrating the shag – South Carolina’s state dance. There will be special parties, drink specials and all sorts of live entertainment. Pack your shagging shoes and get ready for a fun week of dancing!

Native Sons Salt Games
Date: September 15 – 16
Location: Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place on Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Ave North
This two day event is packed full of activities that include a Pro/Am Surf Off, beach volleyball competition, CrossFit Myrtle Beach Coastal Clash and a Beach Bum 5k. There are will also be a Boulevard Blowout skating competition and BMX at the Beach. Whether you’re competing or simply watching – this free event is sure to be entertaining!

Seacoast Artists Arts in Common Fall Festival
Date: September 22 – 23
Location: Valor Park at The Market Common
The Seacoast Artists Guild will be sponsoring its semi-annual arts and crafts festival from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. This festival will feature a variety unique paintings, drawings, photography, jewelry, pottery, glass and more – crafted from local and area artists.

43rd Annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival
Date: September 28 – 30
Location: Atalaya, Huntington Beach State Park
This two day event allows you to enjoy the wonderful artwork of various artists while you wander through the beautiful grounds of Huntington Beach State Park. There will be plenty of crafts, art, food and live music.

15th Annual Irish Italian International Festival
Date: September 29
Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
Partake in an afternoon of indulging in food from local restaurants, watching two stages of live entertainment and checking out street performers, art and craft vendors and dance groups. There will be plenty of entertainment for the kids including inflatables and rides. The local restaurants will be competing for Best Entree, Best Decorated and Best Dessert. And save room for the spaghetti eating competition!

Brew at the Zoo
Date: September 29
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
From 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, enjoy sampling over 30 regional and national craft beers. There will be Jenga games and Cornhole available to play while you enjoy live music presented by Paul Grimshaw Band. There will also be food provided by three food trucks – as well as an appearance by the Terrapin Beer Can Car – which dispenses beer from the front bumper!

26th Annual St John’s Greek Festival
Date: September 27 – 30
Location: St. Johns
This festival celebrates the Greek culture and features plenty of homemade Greek delicacies, music and tradition. Get your fill of moussaka, baklava, gyros, spanakopitas, and more! There will be live entertainment, inflatables, authentic Greek beer and imported wine to sip, and dancers performing traditional Greek dances. This event is sure to entertain the entire family!

OCTOBER
Fall Bike Week
Date: October 1 – 7
Location: Various locations along the Grand Strand

Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival
Date: October 5 – 7
Where: Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place on Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Ave North
With the location right beside the sparkling Atlantic Ocean – of course there would be a festival celebrating seafood in Myrtle Beach. This event features dishes from local seafood restaurants and eateries all along the Grand Strand. There will be live entertainment, beer stations, and activities for the kids. On Saturday there will be a car show and a corn hole tournament hosted by Coastal Tailgating.

Harvest Home Weekend Festival
Date: October 6 – 7
Where: Brookgreen Gardens
Pumpkins, animals, scarecrows and more at Brookgreen’s annual fall festival. There will be a huge pumpkin patch where you can pick a pumpkin to paint, a scarecrow building contest, hayrides, live entertainment, food and more. Plus you’ll have a chance to meet the animals and the whole Brookgreen Gardens is open to explore the sculpture gardens.

Art in the Park
Date: October 6 – 7
Location: Valor Park at The Market Common
From 10 am to 4 pm come out and enjoy the works crafted by artists from all over the country. The event is hosted by the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild – the Grand Strand’s oldest operating arts and crafts organization. The handcrafted art available for purchase includes paintings, woodworking, jewelry, fabric, glass, metal, photography, pottery and stone.

Festa Italiana
Date: October 6 – 7
Location: Grand Park at The Market Common
Calling all Italian food enthusiasts – the 25th annual ‘Festa Italiana’ will be featuring authentic Italian foods including metaball heroes, Neapolitan style pizza, sausage and pepper sandwiches, chicken parmesan and ravioli. While you dig in you can enjoy live entertainment, art and craft vendors, free face painting and more. There will even be a spaghetti eating contest! And don’t forget to save room for the homemade Italian desserts – cannoli, zeppole, biscotti, and Italian ices.

35th Annual Taste of the Town
Date: October 9
Location: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
This is the premier fall food festival of the Grand Strand featuring creations from restaurants all over the area. There will be plenty of food, live entertainment, a beer and wine garden and of course the culinary award presentation. Each year area restaurants compete for awards such as Best Dessert, Best Entree and more!

10th Annual Myrtle Beach Oktoberfest
Date: October 12 – 13
Location: Grand Park at The Market Common
Enjoy this annual fall celebration of all things fall and German that includes live entertainment, kids activities, face painting, inflatables, and more. Live music from German bands will fill the air as you enjoy meandering through local vendors and sipping on a variety of fall beer including Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Highland Clawhammer, Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest, Southern Tier Pumking, Rogue Pumpkin – just to name a few.

14th Annual Little River Shrimp Fest
Date: October 13 – 14
Where: Little River
Nestled on the waterfront in Little River, the Shrimp Fest is a fun event for the entire family! For the kids there is face painting, stilt walkers, balloon artists and other activities. There will be two stages for live music and over 150 different vendors selling everything from art to local seafood. Come enjoy a day full of seafood, music and more!

Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon, Coastal 5K & Doggie Dash
Date: October 20 – 21
Location: Myrtle Beach
Pack your running shoes and get ready for a beautiful run around Myrtle Beach! Part of the half marathon includes over 5 miles of oceanfront running. And if you brought along your furry friend, you can enjoy running the 1 mile Doggie Dash, where all proceeds benefit the Grand Strand Humane Society. No matter what event you participate in – or even if you’re there to cheer on the racers – this is a fun run that ends in a party by the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.

Endless Summer Festival
Date: October 27
Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
Celebrate the end of summer with plenty of great music, dancing, arts and crafts vendors, inflatables, rides and live entertainment. Bring your beach chair and get ready to sit back and relax as you enjoy a fun-filled day on Main Street!

NOVEMBER
Art in the Park
Date: November 3 – 4
Location: Valor Park at The Market Common

19th Annual Lip Rippin’ Chilympics

Location: Wicked Tuna, Murrells Inlet
Pack your appetite and get ready for a fun day filled with sampling chili from local restaurants, sipping craft beer from New South Brewing, checking out art from local artists and jamming out to music by local musicians!

Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot
Date: November 22
Location: Valor Park at The Market Common
Build up that appetite for your Thanksgiving feast at the annual Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot. The race begins at 8 am and is great for all running levels. Your registration includes a race shirt and medal at the finish line. Bring the whole family out for this pre-turkey fun run!
