Hot Summer Nights at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

Summer is on its way back to Myrtle Beach and along with it comes Hot Summer Nights. June through August, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk comes to life with nightly events, concerts, contests, entertainment and more. Brittain Resorts is proud to be sponsoring these fun, family-friendly events.

All the excitement starts with the Sun Fun Festival June 3-5th. Back after a five-year break, the Sun Fun Festival will feature live beach music, kids’ games, a parade, shagging lessons and a shag contest.

On that same weekend, the annual Salt Games will be held. As Myrtle Beach’s only competitive beach festival, viewers get to watch all kinds of competitions including: beach volleyball tournaments, the Native Son’s Life Guard Games, the Beach Brawl Wrestling Tournament, a skateboard and half-pipe contest, the 5K Beach Bum Run, the CrossFit Up Dog Summer Challenge, a paddleboard race, the Ron Jon Pro/Am Surf Off, and the Ben and Jerry’s Kids Run. There will also be music, live entertainment, food, beer and more.

There are weekly events to enjoy too. Starting June 6, every Monday night from 6-9 PM is Monday Kids Carnival in Plyler Park. The carnival will have all kinds of kids’ entertainment including giant inflatables, characters, superheroes, princesses, face painting, balloon art, games and even live performances from talented children!

Wednesday nights bring you free concerts in Plyler Park for Rock-n-Rumble Wednesdays. Be entertained by musical genres including: Rock, Country, Jazz, Pop, Reggae, R&B, and Funk from local and regional artists from 7pm – 9 pm.  Late that evening, night the sky will be illuminated with the largest firework show on the beach sponsored by Bay View on the Boardwalk. The fireworks display kicks off at 10pm off Second Avenue Pier so you can see the wonder from any direction. 

Every Friday night our crowd pleasing Live Seaside Concerts kicks off at 7 pm and keeps the crowd jamming until 10 pm. Be entertained by musical genres including: Rock, Country, Jazz, Pop, Reggae, R&B, and Funk from local and regional artists.

On the Fourth of July, the Boardwalk will be celebrating by putting on the longest and largest fireworks show on the beach. You can see this spectacular show on the beach or on the Boardwalk itself for miles and miles at 10 pm.

Saturday nights in July and August are Family Movie Nights Under the Stars with popcorn and drinks in Chapin Park. Feel free to bring blankets and chairs and relax while you watch some of your favorite family films! Sunday nights are contemporary Christian rock concerts on the I Love Sugar Stage brought to you by Downtown Ministries and Ground Zero.
