Can you believe a New Year has arrived? A New Year means new events in Myrtle Beach. There is plenty happening in 2016, and it all begins in January. Here are the top events to check out on your vacation:

Myrtle Beach Restaurant Week: January 8-15

Every year restaurants along the Grand Strand participate in Myrtle Beach Restaurant Week as a way to say “thank you” for another great year. There are many restaurants that partake each year giving some of the best discounts. Some of these discounts are buy one entrée get one free, free appetizers and desserts and a certain percentage off of the bill. A few of the restaurants included this year are The Brentwood, Castano’s Italian Steakhouse and Sam Snead’s Oak Grill and Tavern. Stay up to date with the restaurants participating here.

2016 Grand Strand Boat Show: January 8-10 

Calling all boat lovers! The 2016 Grand Strand Boat Show will take place on January 8, 9 and 10th at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This year the 33rd Grand Strand Boat Show will feature boat and water sports dealers, sporting goods, boat dockages, fishing tackle and storage dealers. Also, there will be ATV and UTV dealers plus many boating and sporting exhibitors. Now is the time to find yourself that beautiful boat for when you visit Myrtle Beach!

SOS Mid-Winter Break: January 15-17

The Society of Stranders is hosting another awesome shagging event January 15 through January 17. SOS is a great place to meet new people, have a few drinks and enjoy dancing. The Carolina Shag is a popular dance, which is a six-count, eight-step patterned dance. A smiling face will greet you and couples sliding gracefully across the dance floor, as you step into an SOS beach club in North Myrtle Beach. During the SOS Mid-Winter Break, you will need to register for an SOS membership card to enter into the clubs. Some of the lounges include Duck’s Beach Club, Fat Harold’s and The Pirates Cove. South Carolina Square and Round Dance Convention: January 22-23

It’s time for some fun in the sun and a little square dancing! The 41st Annual South Carolina Square and Round Dance Convention is back on January 22 and 23rd at the Springmaid Beach and Resort Convention Center. There are no advanced tickets available as tickets are purchased at the door for this event. The event is calling for all levels of dancers and for anyone looking to have some fun. You will see plenty of line dancing, hear singing calls and even see a fashion show. For more information on this event, call 843-315-7100.

Wine Wednesdays – La Belle Amie Vineyard

La Belle Amie Vineyard is a great place to spend the afternoon with friends, especially on Wine Wednesdays! The vineyard is located in Little River and is truly a sight to see. Every Wednesday from 10am-5pm you can enjoy the great outdoors, live music and wine tastings. There is plenty of seating under the pavilion or on the porch making it perfect for relaxing.
