January 7: Wedding Showcase
Location: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
Calling all blushing bride-to-be’s! The Convention Center will be hosting the Wedding Showcase from 1 pm to 5 pm. There will be various exhibits featuring the latest in bridal fashion, venues, bakeries, catering companies, DJs, photographers & videographers, florists and event planners. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything you need to plan your special event!

January 11-21: South Carolina Restaurant Week
Location: Various Restaurants around Myrtle Beach
Pack your appetite when you visit Myrtle Beach this month because it’s SC Restaurant Week! Several restaurants including Parson’s Table, Ruth’s Chris, The Wicked Tuna, and Croissants Bistro and Bakery, just to name a few, have prepared a three-course pre-fixe tasting menu to showcase some of their specialties. January 11-14: SOS Mid-Winter Break
Location: North Myrtle Beach
There’s no better way to warm up from the mid-winter blues than a week of socializing and dancing in the heart of where the Carolina Shag originated. This three-day event will feature dance workshops, exhibitions and plenty of live music and drink specials. Make sure to pick up your SOS card and pack your shagging shoes!

January 17: Zookeeper for the Day
Location: Lowcountry Zoo, Brookgreen Gardens
Guests ages 12 and older are invited to experience firsthand what it entails working in a zoo. They will get to spend the day going through the daily routine of a zookeeper and helping them with feeding, cleaning and taking care of the animals. For more information, call 843.235.6049.

January 19-21: Grand Strand Boat & Sportsman Expo
Location: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
Cruise on over to the Convention Center to check out the latest in fishing, hunting, and marine world. There will be plenty of vendors onsite showcasing everything from the latest boats and water vessels to the newest hunting and fishing gear. You will find everything you need to maintain and transport your boat. Who knows – you may just leave with a late Christmas present for yourself .. and the family of course!

January 27: Art and the Animal
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
Marking the 57th Anniversary of The Society of Animal Artists, there will be an annual exhibition entitled Art and the Animal, hosted in the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in New York City Metropolitan Area. After it’s premiere, a selection of 45 flatwork and 15 sculptures will be traveling to be displayed at various prestigious venues, including Brookgreen Gardens. Based in New York, The Society of Animal Artists is an organization whose members produce the best animal art in the world. Take a walk on the wild side and visit the exhibit, which will be on display in the Rainey Sculpture Pavilion until March 2018.

January 27-28: 3rd Annual Taste of the MarshWalk
Location: Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
Each of the eight restaurants along the waterfront will create sampling menus featuring their specialties for the 3rd Annual Taste of the MarshWalk. Each sample will be $5 or less. Not only will there be plenty of delicious food to taste, but there will be local and regional artists, face painting, pony rides, live entertainment and more. This is event will be fun for the whole family so come hungry!
