January Events in Myrtle Beach

Another year has started and what better place to kick off 2017 than right here in Myrtle Beach! Here are the events to check out while you’re visiting the beach the month of January.

January 1: First Day Hike: A Natural Resolution
Location: Myrtle Beach State Park
With all the chaos and celebrations of the holiday season, start your first day off in the New Year by disconnecting. From 10 am to 12 pm, spend some time in the coastal habitats by taking a leisurely 1.5-mile walk. This event is all about living in the moment and taking in the serene surroundings of nature. It’s the perfect way to start 2017 off on a calm foot. This program is designed for adults and there are no pets allowed.

January 6-8: Grand Strand Boat & Sportsman Expo
Location: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
If you love fishing, hunting, or simply being outdoors, this event is for you! All types of boats will be on display around the convention center. Vendors will be selling various hunting and outdoor gear as well as fishing and boating gear and accessories. There will also be seminars and events featuring local fishing guides and experts sharing their knowledge of the field.

January 12-22: South Carolina Restaurant Week
Location: Various Restaurants along the Grand Strand
Make sure to pack your appetite when you visit Myrtle Beach in January because SC Restaurant week is back. Various local restaurants participate in this event some giving great discounts on certain menu items while others create a special three-course menu. January 13-15: SOS Mid-Winter Break
Location: North Myrtle Beach
Grab your shagging shoes and get ready to dance and spin your way around the place where the Carolina Shag originated! This three-day event will feature dance workshops, exhibitions, and of course live music and concerts. And while you’re strolling around Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, be sure to check out the “Walk of Fame” pavers lining the sidewalks.
