Kid Friendly Activities in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is a great vacation destination for families. The area has tons of attractions for all ages to enjoy. Here are a few local spots that are especially fun for children to visit.

Ripley’s Aquarium: Experience sea life up close and personal at Ripley’s Aquarium. Located at Broadway at the Beach, Ripley’s is the ultimate underwater experience. See sharks, exotic fish, turtles and more. Pet live stingrays at Ray Bay and hold horseshoe crabs in your hands. Catch live mermaid shows, the Rainbow Rock Dive, and feedings of sharks, the sea dragon, jellyfish, lobster, octopus and the Rio Amazon. Be sure and check out the aquarium’s most popular exhibit, Dangerous Reef. A 340-foot long glidepath winds you through a giant tunnel, bringing you face to face with creatures like green moray eels, tarpons, sand tiger, nurse and sandbar sharks. Ripley’s Aquarium is exciting and educational and a great place to take kids for a day full of fun.

WonderWorks: Wonderworks is a giant fun house of activities and experiments divided into six “Wonder Zones”: Natural Disasters, Physical Challenges, Light and Sound, Space Discovery, Imagination Lab and Far Out Art Gallery. Your trip starts off with a walk through the building’s inversion tunnel which gets you ready for all the upside down fun. On the other side of the tunnel, adventure awaits with over 100 hands on exhibits the whole family can enjoy like the Hurricane Shack, the Bubble Lab, a giant piano, the Mercury Capsule, Fun Express and so much more! There’s even a 6D Extreme movie theatre, an indoor ropes challenge, a laser tag arena, and Soar + Explore, and outdoor zipline and ropes course that hangs above the lake at Broadway at the Beach.

Rockin’ Jump: Rockin’ Jump is the ultimate trampoline park where  you can bounce, flip and jump your heart out. There’s open jump arenas, foam cubes to dive into, and you can even play trampoline dodgeball. It’s the perfect place to be active with your family. Rockin’ Jump has more than just trampolines. There’s the X-Beam, where you and a friend battle it out and try to knock each other off of a beam with padded lances. Loser takes a foam cube dive! You can test your hoops skills in the Slam Dunk Zone, where you can launch on a trampoline and dunk a basketball like you’re in the NBA. Pretend you’re a stuntman in the Stunt Bag arena where you can jump and flip around on an air-filled stunt bag and let loose your inner daredevil. Or climb your way to the top of the Vertical Ops Climbing Wall. Go at your own pace or race your friends to the buzzer for bragging rights. If you have  a younger child that wants to try out Rockin’ Jump, bring them to Rockin’ Tots, a dedicated time where smaller children can play safely while mom and dad socialize. Whatever activity you choose, you’re sure to get a great workout and have a lot of fun at the same time!

Myrtle Beach Arcade: The Myrtle Beach Arcade, also known as “The Fun Plaza” lets you play the whole day away with bright lights, fun games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Try everything from skeeball and air hockey to race car simulators, basketball free throws, claw games, a fortune teller  and other classics. Win and gather up all the tickets you can to claim cool, unique prizes and earn bragging rights as you try your hand at all your favorite arcade games, from the new to old school. Located right on the Boulevard in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the arcade gives you all the nostalgia of an old time arcade, with the breeze of the ocean.
