At Brittain Resorts & Hotels, all of our oceanfront resorts feature plenty of water amenities for the whole family to enjoy. Your kids can enjoy doing cannonballs into the outdoor pool, wading around the indoor pool or floating circles in the lazy river.
At Bay View, your kids can enjoy playing around and getting wet on the splash deck. Long Bay has the Silly Sub Water Park, where they can slip and slide down the three-story water slide or climb in and out of the colorful sub as random buckets of water dump down from above. The Sunken Pirate Ship Water Park at Breakers Resort features dueling water slides, water cannons, splashing water buckets, and fountains – all guaranteed to keep your kids busy playing for hours.
Shipwreck Water Park at Ocean Reef is fun for all ages. The Lagoon Launcher is the new waterslide, which twists and turns down into the lagoon below. If you’re looking to get real soaked, you can hang out by the Tiki Men, which are holding up a buckets full of water! At Compass Cove they have double the fun, with two slides – the Compass Cruiser and the Schooner Screamer – that your kids can race down. Another fun slide is oceanfront Pirates Plunge water slide at the Caribbean oceanfront water park. After your kids are done zipping down the slide, they can wade around in the Silly Submarine Pool and climb on the submarine or ride a water-spouting seahorse!
While there are plenty of amenities to enjoy around the properties, some of our resorts even offer kids programs Monday through Friday, catered to entertaining the young ones in the bunch. Registration is free but certain activities may require a small fee to cover the cost of certain materials.
Activities include tie dying, Ripley’s Mermaid Camp duck races, ice cream socials, outdoor games and more. One night during the week, they even host Kids Night In. This event features a movie, pizza & ice cream. From hotel scavenger hunts to creating slime – your kids are sure to have a blast making friends and creating personalized souvenirs.
You won’t want to miss out on the thrills and excitement of Family Kingdom! With over 37 amusement rides, varying from roller coasters to kiddie rides to log flumes, the whole family is guaranteed to have a good time! Don’t forget to check out their arcade games to try your hand at winning a souvenir or to get your fill of delicious carnival food!
Get up close and personal with some the unique wildlife under the sea at Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach. They have over 9 exhibits that feature all kinds of aquatic life. There are educational experiences where you can learn more about the animals and their habitats – and even get to touch a few of them! From watching jellyfish, petting stingray, riding on the Glass Bottom Boat Tour, exploring the tunnel with sharks swimming overhead – Ripley’s is a great time for all ages.
Wonderworks is an awesome way to combine fun with learning! The giant, upside down building is hard to miss and is home to over 100 exhibits that spark the imagination and test your skills. There are 6 Wonder Zones that feature various exhibits including: natural disasters, physical challenge zone, light and sound zone, space discovery, imagination lab, and the far out gallery. This is a great place to visit with the kids if you’re trying to escape that hot summer sun!
Broadway not only has shopping and dining, but amusement rides as well! They have three different areas offering a variety of rides. You can check out the Pavilion Nostalgia Park, which is home to some of the rides that use to be at the old Pavilion Amusement Park, like the swings and the pirate ship. There’s the Pavilion Park West, which is perfect for young kids who can enjoy a train ride, a mini roller coaster, and several other attractions. If your kids are more thrill seekers, they should check out the Central Pavilion Park. This is where they’ll find the rides that turn them upside down, twist them around and might have their stomachs’ dropping!
Dave & Busters is brand new Myrtle Beach and offers games, food, and drinks galore! They have an arcade packed full of the newest and most exciting games around. Once your kids are done racking up tickets, they can head to winner’s circle to cash in on their prizes!
Shark Wake Park is a cable-ran wakeboarding park and is one of the only ones like it! Your kids can take lessons or if they’re familiar with wakeboarding, enjoy challenging themselves to jumps. Shark Wake Park is also home to the brand new Aqua Park. This giant floating obstacle course has tons of things for your kids to climb, run, bounce, swing across, slide down and jump off of!
The treetop zip lining adventures at GoApe! in North Myrtle Beach and Radical Ropes in Myrtle Beach, are both awesome and unique ways to check out the scenery of South Carolina! The rope courses are a 2 to 3 hour journey through the forest, taking on various suspended obstacles, Tarzan swings, and zip-lines. Go Ape! even offers a kiddie course for the small ones who want to get involved as well!
A banana boat ride is a unique and thrilling way for your kids to experience the ocean waters! It takes some balance as they bump along the waves on an inflatable raft that resembles an enormous banana. There’s even a good chance that they might spot a few dolphins or sea turtles! There are several companies in the Myrtle Beach area that provide the banana boat experience such as Myrtle Beach Watersports, Downwind Sails, Ocean Watersports, Aloha Watersports – just to name a few!
From zip lining and amusement park rides to miniature golf and racing around go-kart tracks, there are plenty of activities for your kids to enjoy during your stay in Myrtle Beach with Brittain Resorts & Hotels. Although they are listed as “kid-friendly activities”, you may find yourself having just as much fun partaking in them as your children!
