Summer is right around the corner! There are so many activities and festivals in Myrtle Beach that include enjoying sipping wine, sampling food, live music and more – you’ll find plenty to do when vacationing with Brittain Resorts & Hotels during the month of May.

May 4: Hopped Up Tap Takeover ft. Natty Greene’s Brewing Company
Location: House of Blues
Natty Greene’s Brewing, a North Carolina craft brewery, is taking over the taps on The Deck at the House of Blues at 6 pm. The event is Free and includes bar bites, $4 Natty Greene beers and free live music by Bangarang. There will also be a raffle for prizes that include concert tickets and House of Blues swag! Cheers!

May 6: Key West Music & Wine Fest
Location: La Belle Amie Vineyard
Relax and sip away the afternoon listening to Jimmy Buffet inspired and beach infused music that will have you feeling like you’ve escaped to the keys!

May 6: Farmers Market on Deville Street
Location: The Market Common
From 10 am to 3 pm shop local, fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, artisan crafts, baked goods, handmade jewelry, homemade jams and jellies – and so much more!

May 6: Taste of The Market Common
Location: The Market Common
Come sample some of the delicious cuisine found at the restaurants located in The Market Common. From 11 am to 4 pm, they will have food tastings, DJs spinning music, bouncy houses, games and face painting. There will be complimentary carriage rides from 12 pm to 3 pm. Tickets are $1 a piece and can be purchased in front of Grande 14 Cinema. Be sure to pack your appetite!

May 13: Mayfest on Main
Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
North Myrtle Beach is kicking off summer with the 12th annual Mayfest on Main festival, which features art, craft and food vendors as well as live music! Bring the family and your beach chair for a day of fun and the sun! Festival goes from 10 am to 6 pm.

May 13: Farmers Market on Deville Street
Location: The Market Common
From 10 am to 3 pm shop local, fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, artisan crafts, baked goods, handmade jewelry, homemade jams and jellies – and so much more!

May 20: “Ribbit the Exhibit”Day
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
“Ribbit the Exhibit” is a traveling collection of life-size copper frog statues that are shown doing a variety activities – from dancing to riding a bike. The artist, J.A. Cobb, will be at Brookgreen Gardens on May 20th from 10 am to 3:30 pm, speaking and answering questions regarding his creations.

May 20: Armed Forces Day Concert
Location: The Market Common
There will be a concert in Valor Park featuring Vocal Edition. The concert, which will be from 6 pm to 7 pm, will be full of patriotic songs as they salute to those that currently served or have served in the Armed Forces. The event is free – so be sure to bring a chair or blanket!

May 20 – 21: Blue Crab Festival
Location: Little River
This year will be the 36th year for this festival that always draws a huge crowd year after year! Rated Best Annual Event/Festival on the Grand Strand by readers of the Sun News newspaper and one of the largest festivals in the Southeast. You can expect to find lots of delicious food, artisan vendors, entertainment and more!

May 27: Dirty Myrtle Mud Run
Location: Carolina Forest
This is not your average fun run – expect to get down and dirty … and a little bit muddy for this 5K. Course obstacles include a barbed wire ditch crawl, tire pendulum, 100 meter carry sandbags, and more, including a mud crawl to the finish line. You’ll definitely want to jump in the ocean or a hot shower after this one!

May 27: Breakfast with the Butterflies
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
There will be a catered breakfast buffet, as well as children’s crafts and activities in the Whispering Wings Butterfly House. Each child will get their own pair of butterfly wings to wear while at the event and to take home as a souvenir. Space is limited. For ticket information, call 843.235.6016.

May 27: Military Appreciation Days Parade
Location: The Market Common
This parade honors all those who currently served or are serving in the military. U.S. hero Alex Skarlatos will be the Grande Marshal for the parade which will begin on at 10:30 am along Howard Avenue and Farrow Parkway.

May 27: Memorial Saturday Music & Cookout
Location: La Belle Amie Vineyard
Grill out and sip wine at La Belle Amie Vineyards as you celebrate Memorial Day Weekend!

May 28: Brookgreen Gardens Memorial Day Weekend 5K Run
Location: Brookgreen Gardens
On Sunday, May 28th Brookgreen Gardens is hosting their 4th annual 5K and 1 Mile Race. This is a gorgeous evening run through the gardens and is one of the most scenic running routes in the Southeast. Click here for more information.
