You can’t go wrong with spending Memorial Day Weekend in Myrtle Beach! When you book your stay with Brittain Resorts & Hotels, you’ll find there are plenty of activities for you and your whole family to enjoy! Check out some of what we have to offer:
With multiple resorts to choose from, you’ll be sure to find the best fit for you and your family! We have plenty of great amenities to take advantage of while you’re on vacation, from oceanfront pools to lazy rivers.
The Ocean Reef Resort has an amazing water park and even has a slide called the Lagoon Launcher that your kids are sure to love. Be sure to check out the Caribbean Resort that has an oceanfront aquatic kiddie park, complete with a Pirates Plunge Water Slide and Silly Submarine Pool. Almost all of our locations, such as the Long Bay Resort, offer indoor pools and outdoor pools – as well as hot tubs for you to relax in. If you prefer to enjoy the water at a slower pace, take a few laps on a float around the lazy one at one of our many locations including Bay View, Dayton House, The Strand and more!
If you’re looking to take a break from the dinnertime rush or don’t feel like battling traffic, feel free to take advantage of our grilling stations! At Compass Cove you can grill out some Memorial Day classics like hot dogs and hamburgers, oceanfront and then enjoy eating around the fire pit. We encourage you to bring your own food and enjoy a night in with the family.
Looking for some alone time away from the kids? We have on-location tiki bars and lounges at many of our properties. With tropical beverages, frozen drinks, and snacks – you’ll be sure to find something to enjoy. Paradise Resort has the Tiki Hut, a bar set up right on the oceanfront so you never have to stray too far from the ocean. Or you can swim right up to the swim-up bar and order a cold drink and enjoy in sitting in the cool water at one of the many tables located right in the pool at North Beach Plantation!
There’s nothing like a little friendly family competition and we have plenty of opportunities to challenge your family to some fun. Enjoy a game of sand volleyball on our oceanfront course at the Ocean Reef Resort. Or try out a round of shuffleboard or ping-pong – or even play a game of chess on the life-size chess set at Breakers Resort.
Shopping, Dining & Entertainment
If you plan on spending some time outside the resort, be sure to check out Myrtle Beach’s infamous shopping, dining or area attractions!
Market Common offers everything from boutiques to bookstores. Feel free to take a walk around the park, which is right across the street, after you’ve done all your shopping. On May 27th, they will be hosting a parade that will travel up Howard Avenue and Farrow Parkway to honor the veterans and those currently serving in the military for Memorial Day.
Broadway at the Beach is a fantastic place to find entertainment, shopping, and dining for all ages. Check out the famous Wahlburger’s for an awesome burger, or American Tap House for tacos and a cold drink. You can also stock up on your beachwear gear at places like Coastal Outfitters or head on over to It’s Sugar for wall-to-wall candy!
Brookgreen Gardens is a great place to go if you’re looking to spend a quiet afternoon filled with wildlife and incredible art. During May 27th through May 29th, they will be hosting an event known as The Red, White, and Blue Salute to Veterans. There will be patriotic sculptures located throughout the gardens that have been crafted by veterans. And on May 28th, you can honor the veterans in a different way at the Brookgreen Garden’s 4th annual 5k and 1 Mile Race. Spend an evening racing through the gardens on one of the Southeast’s most scenic running routes.
However you choose to spend your Memorial Day weekend in Myrtle Beach, we’re sure you’ll enjoy your time oceanfront with Brittain Resorts & Hotels.
