About Vyntyge Skynyrd

Vyntyge Skynyrd celebrates the 1970’s era of the Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd by replicating the band’s timeless music in an upbeat tribue coming this April to The Carolina Opry Theater.

Vyntyge Skynyrd captures the heart and fire of the original band with a show that masterfully replicates the group’s recordings and performances, including those of leader Ronnie Van Zant.

Listeners will be instantly transported back to  1977 and will enjoy classics such as Sweet Home Alabama, Saturday Night Special, Gimme Three Steps, and more. Of course, feel free to yell for “Freebird” as it’s definitely part of the show.

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle praised the tribute band.

“Vynytge Skynyrd is helping to keep Lynyrd Skynyrd’s music alive,” Pyle  said.

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd Security Manager and plane crash survivor Gene Odom called it “One of the best tributes I’ve ever seen.”

Vyntyge Skynyrd will perform two shows for ample social distancing at 4 and 8 p.m. April 11, 2021.

Carolina Opry Theater

The first variety show in Myrtle Beach—and still voted #1 every single year—the award-winning 33rd season of The Carolina Opry show blends two hours of critically acclaimed music, comedy and dance with 35 of the nation’s top performers and was recently named by CNBC as the “Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach!”

The Carolina Opry Theater also brings you Time Warp, the best music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, blended with rich multimedia screens, special effects, and elaborate costuming, all performed live by the award-winning cast of The Carolina Opry.

Returning for a 4th incredible season, Thunder and Light starring nationally renowned clogging group All That!, combines original choreography, upbeat contemporary music, interviews with members and the same multi-colored 5-laser show that toured with Pink Floyd and Madonna.

Newest show in Myrtle Beach, Pure Magic starring The Wagsters, brings magic, amazement, comedy and drama together with captivating card tricks, confounding disappearing acts and even some silly sleight of hand.

From November to early January the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland as Calvin Gilmore presents the South’s most eagerly awaited production, The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, often referred to as “The Christmas Show of the South!”

LIGHT, is 45 minutes of dazzling lasers coupled with a variety of musical themes. You have to see a show like this to believe it—the New York Times said of a one-time performance in New York, “ … you can really walk out exhilarated.”

The theater also presents a full 2018 schedule of various speakers, authors, comedians and musicians with their Myrtle Beach Performing Arts Series.

Savings Tip: Take advantage of their 2 and 3 show packages for substantial discounts!
