Rainy Day Activities in Myrtle Beach

While every vacation in Myrtle Beach is filled with sunshine, there are those random days where rain sneaks into the forecast. When those afternoon showers threaten to ruin your day, make plans to check out these indoor adventures around Myrtle Beach that are sure to entertain the entire family. Here are a few activities to try out when the weather is less than ideal:

1. Take a spaceship to the moon.
WonderWorks is an upside down attraction full of interactive and hands on exhibits. There are six WonderZones where you can let your imagination run wild. You can become a human lightning rod in including Natural Disasters, create a gigantic bubble in the Physical Challenge Zone, strike a pose in the Lights & Sound Zone, get creative with a giant Lite Brite in the solve Imagination Lab and see illusions in the Far Out Art Gallery. In the Space Discovery section is where you can explore Mars or land a spaceship! After you’re done exploring the WonderZones, continue the fun in the glow-in-the-dark Indoor Ropes Course, laser tag arena or 6D Extreme Motion Ride XD Theater!

2. Pet a stingray.
Take a trip under the sea without getting wet when you visit Ripley’s Aquarium. Encounter a sea turtle, giant stingrays, sharks and all kinds of species of fish as you ride the guidepath under the Dangerous Reef. Or take a ride on the Glass Bottom Boat to see this aquatic environment from above. At Rainbow Reef you’ll be able to discover plenty of colorful fish as well as catch a dive show. Make sure to stop by Ray Bay where you can can pet a stingray, as well as watch a live Mermaid Show.

3. Find Blackbeard’s Hidden Treasure.
For a unique activity that involves the whole family working together, head over to Break Out in North Myrtle Beach. You and your family will enter a room where you’ll be given a treasure map to help guide you to Blackbeard’s hidden treasure. X may mark the spot, but there are plenty of traps and tricks to avoid. You will work together as you piece together clues and hints to try to solve the puzzle. But there’s a twist! You only have 60 minutes as you race against the clock to find the hidden treasure and escape the room!

4. Bounce off the Walls.
If you’re going to be stuck indoors, why not check out Rockin’ Jump Indoor Trampoline Park – a place where you can literally bounce off the walls! There’s an open arena full of trampolines where you can do flips and see who can bounce the highest. There are other areas where you can take your fun to new heights in the Vertical Ops as you race up the climbing wall, do tricks into a stunt bag, have a bouncing dodgeball competition, or get max airtime from the launch pad and dunk like a pro in the Slam Dunk Zone. You can have some friendly competition as you see who completes the Ninja Course in the fastest time or test your balance as you try to knock your opponent off the X-beam!

5. Strike a pose with celebrities.
Right across the street from Broadway at the Beach you can see all sorts of celebrities – wax celebrities that is. Check out the two-story Hollywood Wax Museum to get up close and personal with pop culture icons, entertainers, chart topping musicians and actors that all look so life-like, you’d think they were real. After you’re done rubbing elbows and taking photos with the stars, make your way through the terrifying zombie infested lab Outbreak. Or get lost in and try to find your way out of Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors!
