September Events in Myrtle Beach

The season is soon coming to an end. However, that doesn’t mean that summertime is over in Myrtle Beach. The humidity begins to fade out making it the perfect temperature, and the festivals are just getting started. Here is a list of the September events in Myrtle Beach you don’t want to miss.

10th Annual Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival: Come on down to Myrtle Beach this Labor Day and enjoy the delicious BBQ Festival on September 5th and 6th. You can catch the event on Friday from 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 12-10:00 p.m.  The BBQ Festival is located near the Market Common at Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center. You can enjoy some of South Carolina’s best BBQ as they compete for best in the area. All wristbands are $10 for unlimited sampling and kids 8 and under are free. The teams will be competing for over $9,500 in cash prizes plus plenty of bragging rights! Each day the festival is filled with live entertainment, a beer and wine garden, kids activities and more.

5th Annual Coastal Uncorked: Coastal Uncorked will take place at Broadway at the Beach this Labor Day weekend, September 4th through September 6th. Chocolate Under the Moon, a dessert and moonshine mixology, will kick off the festival on Friday. There will be live music, a moonshine mixology challenge, and decadent desserts. On Saturday, the Brews ‘N the Beach Craft Beer event will be back for a second year. The event will take place at Celebrity Square and feature samples of the country’s finest craft brews, delicious food from local vendors and live music. Don’t miss out on the Sunday events, which include samplings of wine from a variety of vendors, a great selection of gourmet hors d’oeuvres and live music. It’s going to be a great three days.

Duplin Winery Grape Stomp: Duplin Winery is brand new to North Myrtle Beach this year and will hold their 1st Grape Stomp at Barefoot Landing. The event is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on September 19th. For more than 39 years, Duplin Winery has been stomping grapes at their Rose Hill location. The Grape Stomp is a fun event to bring out some friends and participate in a grape stomp off competition. You can enjoy beach music, grape stomping, wine tastings, food and more. Tickets are $25 a person.

12th Annual Irish Italian International Festival: Back by popular demand, on September 26th from 10: 00 am. – 4:00 p.m. The event takes place in North Myrtle Beach and is a one-day rain or shine festival. Typically the festival brings in about 15,000 people to celebrate different cultures. On Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, there will be plenty of food from local restaurants, street performers, art & craft vendors, dance groups and live entertainment. Local restaurants will compete for the best dessert, best decorated and best entrée at the festival. Plus all festival-goers can join in on the spaghetti eating competition. Sounds like a fun-filled day to us!

Brew at the Zoo: If you love craft beer, then this event is for you. On September 26th, head on down to Brookgreen Gardens from 5:30-8:00 p.m., and enjoy a variety of craft beers. The tasting includes over 30 regional and national selections. This event also offers a rare opportunity to see the different exhibits at Brookgreen Gardens including the Native Wildlife Zoo at night. All attendees will be given a signature tasting glass, delicious food samples and get to enjoy a silent auction with proceeds going to the gardens. Tickets are $35 per person for members and $40 per person for non-members. Brookgreen Gardens is a beautiful area to see with your own eyes, and we highly recommend it!
