The Summer may be coming to a close, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Myrtle Beach during September! There are lots of fun festivals this time of year to attend with all your family and friends, and the weather is fantastic!
September 2-3: Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival
This Labor Day weekend come check out the Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival! It will be hosted at the HGTC conference center and will offer games, drinks, and lots of BBQ tasting. Anyone is welcome to join as a team and see if they have the best BBQ cooking skills, or you can go as a guest and enjoy all the food and games they have to offer. There will be cash and prizes given to those who are voted to have the best BBQ! Live music and entertainment will be played on both days with a wing competition on Friday and a BBQ competition on Saturday.
September 10: Dog Days Blues & Jazz Fest
La Belle Amie is a beautiful vineyard located right down in Little River, making a great venue for hosting the Dog Days Blues and Jazz Fest. They invite you to enjoy live blues and jazz performances along with a tour of the vineyard. You are encouraged to sample plenty of wine and enjoy some wine slushies. There will be food available all afternoon and you may bring your own chairs and blankets to enjoy the performances. The cost is $8 a person for ages 18-80.
September 23-25: Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival
Huntington Beach State Park will be hosting the 41st annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival. For those that enjoy the fine arts, the Atalaya festival will be showcasing more than 100 of the finest artisans. Their goal is to provide aesthetic beauty on a background of natural beauty. The festival is hosted in Atalaya, the castle that was once the home of Archer and Anna Huntington. Along with the arts and crafts, there will be live music hosted in the courtyard as well as a variety of foods such as seafood, barbecue, and other popular dishes. This event is open to people of all ages. The daily festival admission fee is $8, which includes free entry into the state park.
September 25: Brew at the Zoo
Brookgreen Gardens is a beautiful and relaxing place where locals and tourists can go to appreciate nature and local artwork. For this event, they’ll be welcoming adults to join them at their Brew at the Zoo event. They will be offering more than 30 regional and national craft beer selections for patrons to try, along with a special after hours look at the Native Wildlife Zoo. The Friends of Brookgreen Gardens will be putting on a silent auction and all guests will receive a signature tasting glass. For those that are interested in wine, it will be available to purchase along with various foods. Tickets are set at $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Join Brookgreen Gardens for a night of relaxing fun!
September 29- October 2: Greek Festival
Join St. John’s Church for this year’s 24th annual Greek Festival! It is a great event for people of all ages and is one of Myrtle Beach’s most popular events. You can find various signature Greek foods including spanakopita and baklava along with traditional chicken and lamb gyros. There will be inflatables for the kids, live music, crafts, vendor tables, and tours of the church. For those who want a different taste of Greek life, there will be authentic Greek beer and imported wine.
