What’s on in Myrtle Beach in March 2017

The weather is warming up and there are plenty of outdoor festivals taking place to check out while you’re vacationing in Myrtle Beach during the month of March.

March 2-4: 20th Annual Myrtle Beach Marathon
Location: Myrtle Beach
You’ll see more tennis shoes than flip flops around Myrtle Beach as the city hosts its 20th Annual Marathon. The Grande Dunes 5K is Friday, March 3rd at 7 pm. The Family Fun Run is that same night, beginning at 5:30 pm. Grande Dunes is hosting a Post-Race/Marathon Kick-off Party from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Participants will enjoy relaxing by the Intracoastal Waterway with live beach music and a pre-race pasta dinner available for purchase. On Saturday, March 4th the Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Team Relay all begin at 6:30 am. There will be a Post-Race After Party at the House of Blues from 5 pm to 7 pm. Free food and refreshments will be served to all participants and volunteers and the band Painted Man will be performing. This is sure to be an amazing event!

March 4: Mardi Gras Party & Buffet Dinner
Location: House of Blues
Continue celebrating Mardi Gras with a huge Southern Style buffet and dine to the tunes of The Denny Hess Trio. There will be prizes, beads, and they will crown a King and Queen of Mardi Gras as well! A taste of New Orleans in Myrtle Beach!

March 10-11: BBQ Festival
Location: Surfside Beach
If you love barbecue, you’ll love this festival! The event kicks off Friday, March 10th from 6 pm to 8 pm with “Anything But Butts”. Then on Saturday, March 11th “Best BBQ” is all day from 10 am to 4 pm. Enjoy live music from “The Crave & Co.” from 10 am to 1:30 pm and music from “Josh Brannon Band” from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. There will be local vendors, games, inflatables, and of course – tons delicious BBQ!

March 11: 8th Annual Irish Fest
Location: The Market Common
Put on your St. Patrick’s Day garb and bring the whole family to Valor Park at The Market Common for this annual festival. There will be Irish beer and food, live entertainment, various vendors, kid’s activities that include face painting, inflatables and more. The event runs from 11 am to 7 pm. Make sure to wear your green so you don’t get pinched!

March 11: 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
Location: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
Celebrating all things Irish, there will be a parade to kick-off the festivities at 9 am. There will be three stages for a day filled with live music and tons of vendors selling crafts, food, and more. Bring the whole family and from 11 am to 4 pm the children’s area will have rides and amusements. Click here for a full lineup of bands. And don’t forget to wear your green!

March 11-19: 56th Annual Can-Am Days Festival
Location: Myrtle Beach
This festival is all about Southern hospitality as Myrtle Beach welcomes the neighbors from the north, Canada. There is a golf tournament, lots of concerts, and discounts on various Myrtle Beach attractions.

March 24-25: The Myrtle Beach Highland Games & Heritage Festival
Location: The Market Common
The weekend after St. Patrick’s Day is all about celebrating the Scottish Heritage at this Celtic Festival. There’s lots happening including Athletic competitions, Clan Village, Celtic Marketplace with various vendors, Scottish Whisky Tastings, Kid’s Glen, live music and entertainment and much more! You’ll see men and women competing in feats that test their strength – all while wearing the traditional kilt! You’ll watch them compete in events such as Turning of the Caber, Heavy Hammer Throw, Sheaf Toss, and more. Be sure to bring the whole family out to this festival!

March 25: Breakfast with The Easter Bunny
Location: The Brass Tap at The Market Common
At 9 am on Saturday, March 25th your child can enjoy eating their breakfast with the Easter Bunny at The Brass Tap. The cost is $10 and includes beverages (coffee, soft drink, juice or milk). Make sure to reserve a spot for you and your child today by calling The Brass Tap at 843-945-1747. Carrot pancakes anyone?

March 30: Hopped Up Tap Takeover ft. Oskar Blues Brewery
Where: House of Blues
The brewery that started the craft-beer-in-a-can craze with the canning of their Dale Pale Ale, Oskar Blues Brewery, will be taking over the taps at House of Blues at 6 pm on March 30th. You can dance to free live music by The Yale Brothers as you enjoy $4 Oskar Blue craft beers all night. There will also be complimentary bar bites and prizes given away – including House of Blues concert tickets and swag. If you love craft beer this is one event you won’t want to miss!
