HDC 2025 Conference Recap

Secondary Title

Our Senior Vice President of Revenue Management, Chris Ellison, recently attended the Hotel Data Conference (HDC) where he also spoke as a panelist. The message coming out of this year’s event could be summed up in one word: discipline. With growth flattening and costs continuing to rise, the market isn’t offering much room for error. Profitability will depend on sharper execution across revenue management and distribution.

Several important themes emerged from the conference:

  • Discipline in strategy – Segmentation, rate fences, and distribution controls are more important than ever as growth slows.
  • AI everywhere, but limited depth – While nearly every product claimed to be “AI-enabled,” the real progress is happening in small, practical tools like forecast checks, parity monitoring, and workflow efficiency.
  • Luxury steady, economy challenged – Luxury demand is expected to hold firm, while midscale and economy segments will face mounting pressure.
  • Resilience over growth – The next stretch will not be about chasing rapid expansion but about executing with focus and consistency.

For BRH, HDC is not just about observing trends — it’s about connecting with peers and partners, and ensuring we bring back insights that strengthen our approach. The conversations and sessions this year underscored the importance of resilience and discipline, both in adopting technology wisely and in maintaining sharp revenue strategies.

Looking forward, the industry will reward those who prioritize execution over expansion. For BRH, that means continuing to refine our distribution discipline, evaluating practical AI tools that deliver measurable results, and staying focused on strategies that support long-term resilience.
