What will you be doing?

Sea Captain’s House has been a favorite of the Grand Strand for over 60 years.  We are a high-volume, fast-paced, award-winning, oceanfront restaurant that is looking for motivated and friendly individuals to join our team as Bussers/Food Runners!  As a Busser/Food Runner, you will help create an enjoyable dining experience for our guests by providing excellent customer service, clearing and preparing tables for guests, assisting waitstaff with order delivery, and other related duties.  This position offers $6.25 per hour.  When including tips, our Bussers/Food Runners typically earn between $12.00 – $14.00 per hour.

Busser/Food Runner responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist servers by maintaining teamwork, acting as a point of contact between front and back of house
• Prepare the dining room for servers by cleaning and clothing tables; setting silverware, condiments, etc
• Protect establishment by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
• Maintain menu presentation by keeping menus clean; replacing damaged or soiled pages
• Deliver food orders to the accurate guest when needed
• Communicate to wait staff and kitchen staff
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to server spills or other needs
• Support wait staff by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers liners, and bus stations
• Clear off tables and prepare for the next guests in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain dining areas by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping and/or vacuuming floors; removing trash and recyclables
• Other duties as assigned
