What will you be doing?

Sea Captain’s House has been a favorite of the Grand Strand for over 60 years.  We are a high-volume, fast-paced, oceanfront restaurant with an award-winning kitchen that is looking for experienced Line Cooks to join our team!  As a Line Cook, you will help create an exceptional experience for our guests by efficiently preparing dishes with a sense of urgency and care, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, monitoring ingredient quality, managing stock levels, and performing other related duties.

Line Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc…)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure excellent presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and stock products when there are shortages
• Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?

• Weekend availability
• Prior experience as a Line Cook
• Basic knowledge of DHEC policies
• ServSafe Certified is a plus, but not required
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for long periods of time
• Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors
